Memorable Memoir Reading Challenge?

Like many of us, I’m putting together my list of reading challenges for 2010. And something is missing.

Does anyone know of a Reading Challenge for memoirs? I love memoirs, and I was thinking how cool it would be to be part of a such a challenge. Diaries and letters could be included, too.

I’m thinking something like the Memorable Memoir Reading Challenge.

Does anything like this exist?

Or did I just create (and become the host) of this? Which if there is interest ….

Thanks for sharing this post!

I like them too, especially since my tot’s been around — maybe it’s easier somehow on my brain than novels. Hmm. Anyway, I don’t belong to any reading challenges but I read nonstop, so I’d be up for it. Reading Mary Karr’s Lit right now, in fact.

Book Dragon ~ you know it is all your fault that I am now up to 7 challenges that I’ve signed up for, right? ๐Ÿ™‚ See what happens when you become my BBAW buddy? ๐Ÿ™‚

Florinda ~ I would be honored to have you as part of this challenge! Absolutely, books for other challenges would definitely count. (I am only doing challenges where that is the case.)

JoAnn ~ which ones are you doing? I’m betting we will have some in common.

Zee ~ glad you would be interested. Watch this space for more details.

    Thanks, everyone!

I’m working out my list of challenges, too, and it will definitely be shorter than this year’s! Haven’t come across one for memoirs, but it sounds like a good idea.

I don’t know if Vasilly will be doing the In Their Shoes again, I haven’t seen a post for it. There is no reason you can’t do one also. Come up with some interesting “rules”, post it and then go to Novel Challenges to have them post about it.

I like reading memoirs. Didn’t before this year but plan on reading more of them in 2010.

I don’t know if there’s a challenge for memoirs, but if you start one, I might join in – especially if you let books for other challenges count as well. Memoirs are my preferred nonfiction reading, and I have a few in my reading list for the Women Unbound challenge already.

I know there was “In their Shoes” last year, don’t know if they’re doing it again. Also, “Non-fiction Five” which could be all memoirs except one.

Non-fiction Five has May to September for three years

    dinner’s ready, I’ll be back ๐Ÿ˜‰

I haven’t seen one. I would be interested though. I am making memoirs as my “You choose” category for the 2010 Challenge at Bart’s
