Book Blogger Appreciation Week Meme

As regular readers know, I’m participating in Book Blogger Appreciation Week from September 14-18, having signed up to interview another book blogger (can’t wait to see who I get!).

I’m also still working on my nominations. (You don’t have to have a book blog – or any blog at all, for that matter – to nominate someone. Check out the details here.)

In the meantime, I thought I’d answer a few BBAW questions:

1) What has been one of the highlights of blogging for you?

Meeting so many wonderful people and learning about some great books (The 19th Wife, The Little Giant of Aberdeen County, The Story of a Marriage, This Lovely Life … just to name a few) that I would likely have never discovered without reviews and buzz from book bloggers. It’s also been incredibly therapeutic to me, moreso than I would have guessed.

2) What blogger has helped you out with your blog by answering questions, linking to you, or
inspiring you?

I’ve asked Niksmom of Maternal Instincts several questions about doctors, etc. (I’d also have to give her props for the linking to me, too.) And MOM-NOS is responsible for introducing me to Sitemeter, which I am grateful for.

Several bloggers answered my query about coveting a blog look I love. And several of my posts have appeared in Florinda’s weekly roundup on The 3R’s, which I always appreciate. I’d have to say most visitors stop by from there or from Abigail Carter’s blog, The Alchemy of Loss (based on her book of the same name, another one that I might not have known about if it wasn’t for blogging).

Beth Kephart’s blog continues to inspire and amaze me (as does Beth herself). It’s one of my must-reads every day, and I think she’s helped to make me a better writer and person as a result. She’s also taught me to see the world differently and to appreciate and capture the small details of life through photography.

3) What one question do you have about BBAW that someone who participated last year could answer?

Can’t really think of any … My Friend Amy has done a great job of organizing and setting this up so that it seems fairly self-explanatory (and fun!)
Thanks for sharing this post!
